Blantonia (“Blantonia”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the Blantonia website at https://blantonia.com and the Blantonia mobile apps for iOS and Android. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly, information created while you use the service, and limited technical information needed to run and protect the app.
- Account information: name, email address, password hash, verification status, account settings, native language, learning language, and selected learning level.
- Learning content: custom lessons, uploaded or generated cards, target-language sentences, translations, tags, lesson names, study sets, card flags, correction notes, and other content you create or submit.
- Audio and transcripts: audio recordings or uploaded audio when you choose to create lessons from recordings, plus transcripts and generated flashcards created from that audio.
- Study activity: quiz answers, review history, card status, due-review dates, accuracy, streaks, progress by lesson or curriculum level, and similar learning-performance information.
- Payment information: if paid plans are offered, payments are processed by Stripe or the applicable app store. We may store customer identifiers, subscription status, plan information, and transaction metadata, but we do not store full card numbers.
- Device and usage information: app version, browser type, device type, IP address, log timestamps, authentication tokens, error logs, and similar information used for security, debugging, and service operation.
How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account.
- To provide language lessons, quizzes, audio playback, review queues, progress tracking, and custom lesson tools.
- To generate transcripts, flashcards, translations, and study material when you request those features.
- To save your learning progress and personalize what you review next.
- To send account-related emails, including verification links, password resets, service notices, and important product updates.
- To process payments, manage subscriptions, and prevent abuse.
- To debug issues, improve app reliability, protect against spam and fraud, and maintain security.
How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it with third-party advertisers. We share information only with service providers that help us operate Blantonia, when required by law, or when needed to protect the service.
- OpenAI: used for language-learning features such as transcription, card generation, translation, and text-to-speech when those features are requested. Relevant text, audio, or lesson content may be sent to OpenAI for processing.
- Stripe: used for payment processing and subscription management when paid plans are used.
- SendGrid or email providers: used to send verification, password reset, and account-related emails.
- Cloudflare: used for spam prevention, security checks, and protection against abusive traffic.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers: used to host the website, database, files, logs, and app services.
- Apple and Google: if you use the iOS or Android app, those platforms may process app-store, installation, crash, device, or purchase information under their own privacy policies.
Cookies, Tokens, and Similar Technologies
On the website, we use cookies and similar technologies for login sessions, security, preferences, and WordPress functionality. In the mobile apps, authentication tokens may be stored securely on your device so you can stay signed in. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
Data Retention
We keep account and learning data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Deleted lessons or account data may remain in backups or logs for a limited period before being removed. Payment and transaction records may be retained as needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
Your Choices and Rights
- You can update account settings in the app or website.
- You can request access to the personal information associated with your account.
- You can ask us to correct or delete personal information, subject to legal, security, and operational limits.
- You can request deletion of your account and associated learning data.
- You can choose not to upload audio or create custom lessons that contain personal information.
Children
Blantonia is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Blantonia, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted connections, access controls, and security monitoring. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
International Processing
Blantonia is operated from the United States. If you use Blantonia from another country, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will update the effective date above. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice through the app, website, or email.
